Not Bragging…Just Excited!

…Really.

I hate when people use their personal blog or facebook page solely as a forum to tell you what big meeting they are going to, or what big deal they closed, or worse, are always “so excited” to be starting their day… get real. Not that those things are wrong, I just think that a blog or personal FB page should be, well, about you. I have a page dedicated to Otterball where I talk about emerging projects, PR stuff, etc. but this page is really about me, for you (Hi, Mom).

So, I am just so pumped that my article in .Net Magazine has finally hit store shelves. OB has gotten a lot of stuff published in this magazine in their portfolio section showing some our our more popular designs, but this was the first time I had the opportunity to be featured personally as both a designer and writer. I feel like I did when I used to submit drawings to Gamepro magazine of Sonic The Hedgehog or Solid Snake in hope that they would put me in their fans section (you still owe me a t-shirt by the way…damn you Gamepro!). Anyway, you can check it out at the link below, or pick up a copy of issue 182 under the American title “Practical Web Design” at your local bookstore.

One Of My Heroes

So, like I said, this blog is going to be kinda random…but so am I. I have been a fan of Gary Vaynerchuk for quite some time and his video blog Wine Library TV (seriously, you should check it out - it’s like ESPN meets fine dining) - I am an armband wearing, sniffy-sniff taking member of the Vaynernation. My friend Bill Streger sent me a video Gary posted that really inspired me… I hope to someday be this bold and while still being so genuine. To quote Bill, “This dude’s got stones!”

Enjoy!

It’s a lifestyle…

OB got the chance to partner with Lee Steffen on a crazy-cool side project for some friends of ours, Matt Wertz and Alex Beh. To say this site just sells T-Shirts would be like saying Thundercats was just a cartoon, or Fruity Pebbles is just a cereal… no my friend…the shirt only scratches the surface that is this historic campaign, nay, lifestyle.

May I present… Brotally!

Dr. Fish

So, today I was at lunch with my friends David and Kirk and I was retelling the story of my time in Seoul.  Obviously, the highlight was the Dr. Fish experience… so here, now enjoy the video version.

Here we go…

At long last I have decided to try and maintain a simple blog.  Now I don’t suspect that I will have a lot to say, but this will at least give me the forum to post something funny that I have seen, or maybe some of my designs or cute pictures of my dogs…at any rate I suspect this will be a place for me to express myself (whatever that means).  Please enjoy and feel free to comment!
